About Us

We are a small GCCF / CFA registered cattery located in Scotland specializing in Chinchilla and Silver Shaded Persians. From the outset we wish to thank Wilma Lagerwerf from the Cedarswamp Cattery Canada for entrusting us with such beautiful cats and giving this cattery such a wonderful start in our breeding programme.

We would also like to thank Bruno Piccaso at the Brumar Cattery in Italy for allowing us Grand Champion Brumar Sugar and Butter.   Not only is Sugar everything we had hoped for and such a joy to have around, dealing with Bruno was a real pleasure who certainly went the extra mile for us.

Although Wilma no longer breeds she continues to oversee our programme and ensures we continue the Cedarswamp tradition of producing cats that are well socialized and known for their superior friendly disposition as well as beautiful looks.

All aspects of the breeding programme are overseen by Wilma, who in her role as Consultant, ensures we continue the Cedar Swamp tradition of producing cats that are well socialised and known for their superior friendly disposition as well as beautiful looks.

Each cat is raised with the emphasis on being an intelligent companion who has an adorable temperament and carries a full physical health and genetic guarantee. All our breeding cats are PKD DNA negative tested.

We have long held the belief that cats within a breeding programme should have a excellent quality of life. With this in mind our cattery is completely in house with both males and females enjoying large living space as well as outdoor runs which are both safe and secure. In addition to this space we have a separate nursery for kittens to also have a safe and secure environment during their all important formative stage.

The breeding of any animal should be taken very seriously and as such we endeavour to be ethical in our approach to our specific programme and dealing with all people in connection with it.

In addition to Wilma and Bruno there are a number of people we would like to thank:

Hilda Thomson for providing us with not only 3 fabulous cats at various stages of our cat fancy journey, Grand Premier Woosy Jiggli Wiggli, Grand Premier Woosy Umph –N- Puff and Mary Poppins but also being a friend in the true meaning of the word. Thanks for all the help and advice you has given us and we apologise to any of your other friends who tried to phone you and found it was engaged.

Diane Slater for entrusting us with our first show cat Imperial Grand Premier Celebrity Sir Galahad. Diane set the standard on how breeders should evaluate potential new owners – a lesson we will never forget. Again thanks for the advice and encouragement you have given us over the years.
